Did you just upload the folders and have them over write the existing ones? If so, this doesn't always work well, especially with a large addon like WYGWAM. Try, deleting the folders on the server and uploading them fresh.

The RTE with EE5 is OK, but as you observe has some limitations regarding handling of images. The alternatives are all add-ons that provide a wrapper to some other Rich Text Editor source. Wyvern - A wrapper for CKEditor Wygwam - Also a wrapper for CKEditor Editor - A wrapper for Redactor My personal favourite is Wyvern, but all are good options. HTH

This isn't a Wyvern thing at all, its CKeditor's behavior. Wyvern just wraps CKeditor and provides a few EE specific features. Any and all behavior inside of the editing region is all CKeditor's behavior. You'll have better luck at the CKeditor forums for something like this.

I had the same issue with the save button which Wygwam removed recently too. It was a bit of a battle but i have it back working now.( the pixel and tonic documentation leaves a lot to be desired on this area) Ok first of all you need to download the add on from the ckeditor site , in my case it was a save button and I called the folder saveicon with the ...

I think Wyvern (an other wysiwyg) can "process" the ee variables and partials. https://expressionengine.com/add-ons/wyvern

You can try to install MX Universal Editor, but I can't guarantee anything about this. http://wiseupstudio.com/expressionengine/mx-universal-editor.html

There are three commercial EE add-ons which use CKEditor - all very affordable: Wygwam Expresso Wyvern And yes, you can add/edit entries via a front-end form, using the included Channel Form module.

In EE3 : Theme third-party folder path is as follow: themes/user/ System third-party folder path is as follow: system/user/addons/

The problem was that the URL to the themes folder was not https: http://www.example.com/themes/ vs. https://www.example.com/themes/ This caused the resources to load in mixed mode causing the issue.

Changing the fieldtype won't strip out data. Internally Wyvern, Wygwam, or any WYSIWYG editor just saves the data to a normal text column in the database. Changing the type to textarea just ensures that it contains the same blob of text that contains html, but nothing enacts on it or tries to modify it. So in short, yes you are safe in doing this. Always ...

I finally solved it by completely uninstalling the Wygwam module! Follow the following steps to do it safely: Make a dump of your database, so you can restore data if needed. You also need this, to restore Wygwam configurations. Also make sure you have an example of the Wygwam configurations, so you can verify if the configurations are correct. I had an ...

Wyvern has a similar config file, you can add this line to it: config.disallowedContent = 'img{width,height}';

Hrmm. I wouldn't recommend changing core files. :p I feel like being awful today. Here's a PHP solution (turn template on PHP output): <?php echo preg_replace("/height\=\\"(\d*)\\" width=\"(\d*)\\"/", 'style="height:$1px; width:$2px;"', '{wyvern_image_field}'); ?> This regex will turn <img src="blat.gif" height="200" width="200"> to <img ...

I'm not so sure on the Expresso Editor, but if you are using WYGWAM as your WYSIWYG editor... If this is the case this might be of some interest to you : https://github.com/pixelandtonic/wygwam_template_links never used it so not quite sure if it's exactly what you want... Also see this article which may give you clues on how tyou could hijack the Template ...

You shouldn't have to do anything but install Wygwam. CKeditor is just installed under Wygwam, you can find it in themes > third_party > wygwam > lib > ckeditor

We also had this issue, solution we used is: The content editor removes empty icons when it loads. As a result, the icon needs to have some type of content inside it for the editor to leave it be. We can do this by adding a non-breaking space to the icon: <i class="fa fa-search fa-lg">&nbsp;</i>

The only way to do it is through an addon from ckeditor . The plugin you want is here http://ckeditor.com/addon/liststyle Instructions from the pixel and tonic site on how to add a plugin to Wygwam http://docs.pixelandtonic.com/wygwam/developers/ckeditor_plugins.html It not very clear so here are more detailed instructions Adding CKEditor Plugins to ...

The plugin lists Widget, Line Utilities, Dialog, and Clipboard as dependencies, but it looks like lineutils and widget are both getting added after image2. I’m betting that’s your problem. If you click on the filename next to the error in your browser’s console, it should take you to the line in the file that is causing the JS error, which might provide ...

Try just: <div class="form-element-wrapper" id="mission-container"> <label for="mission">Mission</label> {field:mission} </div> {field:mission} will render the textarea for you.
