If you already have the auto_login field in your login form and it's just not working, you are probably running into a long standing bug where Remember Me just doesn't work consistently or correctly. Here are two possibly related bug reports: http://expressionengine.com/bug_tracker/bug/16355 http://expressionengine.com/bug_tracker/bug/17423

Add a checkbox with the name auto_login to your login form <input class="checkbox" type="checkbox" name="auto_login" value="1" /> Auto-login on future visits

Just to clarify, we definitely use a forked version of CI with security holes patched as we find them. We also apply any security patches to the public version of CodeIgniter. Don't update what's there as that would cause compatibility issues.

EllisLab has forked the official CodeIgniter version and are using their own internal one. I highly doubt you can replace this with the official one.

According to the bug reported by Mark Drzycimski, for those who don't have an Ellislab account, the solution is listed as follows: In /system/expressionengine/libraries/Redirect.php on line 50, change: "<p><a href='".$_GET['URL']."'>".$_GET['URL']."</a></p>\n</body>\n</html>"; to: "<p><a href='".$_GET['URL']."'...

Presumably her portfolio site is there to sell her services, so that would qualify it as commercial use. Feel free to email EllisLab, but I'm pretty sure that this falls outside of the intent of the "core" license. From the EE software license: Users of the Core License may use the Software only on a website engaging in personal, non-commercial, or non-...

Thanks for the heads up, Robson. I'm pretty sure they're running into this bug: https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/20414 It's fixed up for the next release. Those weird queries can happen if the query cache isn't cleared out when it should be.

There aren't any add-ons that I know of that would add front-end member functionality to the Core version of ExpressionEngine. Solspace User, as well as Zoo Visitor and Profile:Edit all build on top of EE's existing member module, and therefore don't work on EE Core. I do have to ask though, what kind of project are you working on where EE's price tag makes ...

From the plugin file in EE 2.7: This plugin parses text using Markdown and Smartypants. To use this plugin wrap any text in this tag pair: {exp:markdown} Text to be **parsed**. {/exp:markdown} There are two parameters you can set: encode_ee_tags - ('yes'/'no') defaults to 'yes', when set to 'no' allows EE code to be rendered smartypants - ('yes'/'no') ...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately working with the default member profile templates really is a massive, massive pain. Hence the large number of member related addons out there. About the only plus point is that they are saved as files unlike the system message/speciality templates, but otherwise the documentation really is next to non-...

So this may or may not solve your issue but we were having problems getting this to work for quite awhile and I decided to make my own patch to the EE core files. It only works for my instance but if you can get the general idea if should help you. The remember me functionality is broken for multi site logins (so this patch will only work for that). ...

I know it'd be hacking core, but wouldn't throwing a rel="nofollow" attribute on the anchor negate the effectiveness of this?

I'm working on a small website with EE-core for a non-profit theater-group and also needed some basic member login / logout functionality to allow members to login and see members-only templates and members-only {if logged_in} content. Members can be added and edited via the control panel by an admin. You can try-out a mashup i made of an older version of ...

You have two questions here: 1) Is it possible to use some of the modules from the regular version of EE in the EE Core? No. That would be a violation of the license agreement. You can use any 3rd party add-ons you like, as long as they work with Core, which means they cannot rely on any of the modules not included in Core. However, copying the modules ...

if you don't mind of to write the queries as Active Record, you can use the Active Record Plugin. But maybe you don't need that so much as you think. Sometimes, the default tags can do the job. UPDATE For completeness sake, here is the working Active Record equivalent to the exp:query; nothing else in the templates needed to be changed. {if segment_3 == "...

It's not going to help you specifically, but titles are put through a typography filter you have no control over. Maybe use the query module to access title data when generating your entries, that should bypass the filter because it's direct from the db. I had the same issue in reverse. Client wanted proper typography but WYGWAM would strip them and they ...

This looks like an EE bug to me, I'd report it to EllisLab. The error you are seeing comes from system/expressionengine/libraries/Core.php, on this line in the constructor: @set_time_limit((REQ == 'CP') ? 300 : 90); However, REQ isn't actually defined until the bootrap() method a bit further down: public function bootstrap() { // Define the request ...

As was mentioned in a previously deleted question, all of the free member management solutions (and indeed, all of the commercial ones too) build on top of EE's integrated member management functions. Therefore it's not possible to add member management to EE core, without a lot of work re-implementing all this functionality. That said, you'd be crazy not ...
