So here's what I've found out: EE uses an INT database field to store a UNIX timestamp Because of this, EE can display dates back to about 1901 Switching the database field from INT to BIGINT fixes the problem, but can dramatically increase the size of that database table I discovered the INT vs BIGINT fix through a web search and tested it with success. I ...

ExpressionEngine gives edit_date special treatment inside the Channel Entries loop to account for the way it's saved, but inside a query it's just another 14-digit number. To get it to format properly in a query loop, the SELECT statement can be modified to offset the value from GMT and convert it to a Unix timestamp. Luckily, EE's current_time variable ...

There wasn't really a question here, but... :) If you're using Solspace Calendar, which I assume you are since you've tagged it as such, you don't have to do this calculation, it's already built into the addon. For instance, you could do this: {exp:calendar:cal date_range_start="{year}-{segment_2}-first" date_range_end="+1 month"}

try DATE_FORMAT(from_unixtime(entry_date), '%Y-%m-%d') AS post_date

I believe, your options are: to change the format of date you're using on the segment_2, which isn't a good idea because EllisLab can some day finally normalize all date fields; to reformat the date to match the way its used on edit_date database column; To change the date format, I suggest you the Low Nice Date plugin: {exp:low_nice_date date="{segment_2}...

Are you including the jQuery datepicker file manually? Because channel form includes one as well. To disable channel form's datepicker file and initialization, include the include_assets="no" parameter.

The format for date_range_start="" and date_range_end="" parameters is YYYY-MM-DD, not MM-DD-YYYY.

Reading the docs, it will utilise the control panel language format or logged in user format. Were you logged in on the Macbook? Similar question and alternative answer for multi-language: How do I format the date in a foreign language?

1

The localisation settings only adjusts the language in the control panel. I can recommend the add on Date/Time Language Converter to adjust dates to the correct language in your templates.

My pragmatic solution would be to just enable PHP on output.

regarding second q, possible stash will help you {exp:channel:entries channel="policy_papers" status="open" limit="10"} {pp_related_papers} {exp:stash:append name="related_papers"} {if pp_related_papers:count == "1"} <ul> {/if} <li><a href="{path="policy-papers/papers"}/{pp_related_papers:url_title}"><h5>{...
