You will need that rule, nothing has changed with the requirement of using mod_rewrite to remove the index.php portion of your URL for your site installation. You still need to direct all non-file/directory URLs to that index.php file as well. Please review the docs: https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/general/remove-index.php.html#1-create-an-htaccess-...

You are using this inside a channel entry loop, correct? If not, you need to be. And you might also try using the other field segements: {exp:channel:entries channel="my_channel_with_select_field" limit="1" dynamic="no" entry_id="the_entry_id_of_the_entry_i_want_to_output"} {select_field_name} Field value : {select_field_name:value}...

Yep it is still there. Go to Developer/Channels and edit a channel (or create a new one) - the Maximum number of entries value is the third setting field down on the "Channel" tab (i.e. the first one that appears when you edit a channel). More in the EE documentation. HTH

There are clear instructions on how to move not just the templates but the whole of the system folder above the HTML root in the EE documentation. HTH

To use search parameter in Grid you have to add search parameter in grid fieldtype not in Channel entries tag. You can get more information from below example. https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/fieldtypes/grid.html#searchcolumn_name {grid_field search:partno="search_value"} {grid_field:your_grid_field} {/grid_field} I hope this will works for ...

Yes private pages are easily do-able. There are numerous approaches, here's one using a template to control who can view content. Create a template and add some conditional tags to determine if the person is logged out (show login form), or logged in (show the content) Assuming that anyone that is logged in can see content {if logged_out} YOUR LOGIN ...

There isn't an EE solution to this problem. When being able to set your template folder path for each MSM site went away, there was growing pains for all. But at the end of the day, if you have a good setup for your application, it is most easily solved at the deployment/devops layer of your setup. The easiest way to handle this is to setup symlinks. For ...

SuperSearch has been obsolete for quite sometime (didn't make it past v2) and will not run on newer versions of EE. Try Low Search.

The channel entries call you are using to retrieve the custom field would need some more parameters to work - you need to give it some sort of channel or entry information for EE to work out what custom field value to return. Also, the syntax for field names requires them to be unbroken strings, so using the form search:custom field= will not work as custom ...

So it is a partial answer - it seems that the issue is managing the time it takes for EE to respond to the AJAX request. So for now I've fixed this by making the AJAX request synchronous... vis function new_entry(url_title,title,custom_content) { return $.ajax({ method: "GET", async: false, url: '/some/ee/template', data:...

Hard to tell from your question what actually is going on, but here is a suggestion for a way forward: Download a clean copy of EE 5.4 Create a clean / new install of EE 5.4 on some test system Copy the system / index files created in the new install Update the copied system / index files with relevant information from your existing system / index files ...

It would be possible, if you don't mind doing a page reload as part of the process. EE can find an entry with just the url_title or entry_id, so all you need to do is create a default template that is loaded in response to the url form blog/singlepage (e.g. by creating a template group blog and putting within it a template singlepage.html) and put in that ...

It looks like something may be tripping up a mod_security rule on the server, that can happen from time to time if the rules are too strict. How to check: Make the error happen using the field, make a note of the time Check server logs to see if any mod_sec rules have been triggered Disable any triggered rules Test the field again, is mod_sec was the ...

The issue with fields not populating will be hard to diagnose without you providing more information about how the fields were defined and how you are trying to access them / include in templates. As for the Publisher / NavEE support - wasn't too hard to find this on the BoldMinded site, which is indicated as working with EE4/5. If this doesn't work with EE5,...

Pagination in EE works by adding a segment to the end of your URI - so my guess is that you have an issue with routing. Try loading your template with the pagination block removed (i.e. so you get the page) and then add /P5to the end of your URI and see what you get. If you get the 500 error, then that would confirm the issue. What you do next depends a bit ...

The best way of creating transient values within a template is through EE's built in layout variable system. Layout variables can be defined as single values or as part of an addressable array, and can contain anything you can generate as tag output within a template. The only wrinkle is that the variables only get instantiated when EE template processing ...

This sounds like a Mod Security issue. If your web host has strict mod_sec rules doing some things in EE can trigger them. I'd suggest making the error happen, making a note of the it happens, then look in your server logs to see if a rule is being triggered - if that's the case you may need to disable one or two specific rules. If you can't access mod_sec ...

Seems to be a server parameter setting, update, from ICU lib I encountered this issue too, this problem may not be always related to PHP version, I have seen the problem on my customer server with PHP 5.6 version. The INTL_IDNA_VARIANT_UTS46 constant is available in PHP 5.4.0 but the intl extension uses the ICU system lib and some servers have a really old ...

If your intention is simply to allow other authentication schemes to act as mechanisms for gaining access to EE, you might get what you need from the "Social Sign In" plugin from Reinos.nl This does not offer access to the full SSO universe, but potentially covers a large proportion of it. I have not used this plugin, but can recommend Reinos stuff in ...

This is possible - I have a similar link on one of my sites that uses CT. All you need to do is create a single link using this for the URL cp/addons/settings/cartthrob_order_manager HTH PS - Usually helpful to include version numbers in questions like this, as answers will sometimes vary between versions of EE and add-on (such as CT in this case).

For the benefit of anyone with the same question I have the correct code for displaying a checkbox or multi-select field. This information is not in the documentation as of Oct. 2019 {exp:smart_members:profile member_id = "" } {allergy_checkbox} {allergy_checkbox:value} {/allergy_checkbox} {/exp:smart_members:profile}

OK, I just solved this. I've got 2 urls, one redirects to the other. Base path was set wrong in URL and path settings (set to the redirecting url) Works fine once I updated the settings.

Fluid fields are designed to allow the user creating a channel entry to choose which fields are included in the entry. So when you are designing your template you cannot make assumptions about which fields the user will have chosen, or (to some extent) how many, or in what order. So template processing of Fluid fields needs to be handled differently to ...

EE now defaults to using InnoDB type tables in MySQL. The docs have instructions on how one can convert MyISAM tables to InnoDB (here). Whether it makes any difference on an average site is moot, and there should be no issues if you run a site with a mixture of MyISAM and InnoDB tables. HTH.

I figured it out. That include was a copy of another include, and so permissions were reset to none. Meaning no one could see it, but if I logged in to check the templates involved, suddenly it would reappear (because I was logged in as a SuperAdmin). Setting the permissions seems to have fixed the issue.

Automatic creation of unique URL titles was a built-in feature of EE in v2. Apparently it was removed with v3. You can see some discussion of the issue on this bug report https://expressionengine.com/support/bugs/21902/adding-a-new-entry-with-the-same-title-as-an-existing-one-does-not-auto-gen Looks like there are no plans to bring this functionality back ...

The standard search features of EE do not support much refinement of the search itself beyond specifying which channel to search within. If what you want to do is adjust what gets displayed once the search is complete, the only way to do this is to focus on the processing of the search results rather than the search request. So run the search using ...

This appears to have been a problem with my server config running the queries slowly, not with Expression Engine or the Simple Registration plugin. It's odd that this problem occurred when upgrading to EE 5.1.2, but I have recently moved to a new hosting provider and speeds have increased dramatically.
