I've just knocked up a quick accessory that does a similar thing to what Matt suggested.

I would add JavaScript to the control panel - perhaps using http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/cp-css-js Then the following JS as required (jQuery already included in the CP) $('label[for=aol_im],#other-selectors').parents('tr').remove(); You might also have to sort the table row classes (odd/even) but that will remove the fields from users view.

You can import members via these instructions. As you will likely not import passwords you would need to set up a pw recovery template as well. This is simply a forgot password function

For a solution for now, how about a different conditional? {if "{url}" != "http://"} <p><strong>Website</strong><br /> <a target="_blank" href="{url}">{company_name}</a></p> <hr /> {/if}

To get the logged in member use ee()->session->userdata('member_id') or $this->EE->session->userdata('member_id')

I think, Customer Account Number would be unique for each member so based on the Customer Account Number, the member id can be fetched. That member id can be used for manually login a member. You should see here: Manually login a member in ExpressionEngine There is another way also. As you can get member's username also with Customer Account Number so just ...

I don't think there is currently an add-on that would allow "login as member" functionality from the front-end (e.g. any other place then the EE control panel) However you could write (or commission to let write) a small plugin, based on the login_as_member() and do_login_as_member() functions. As a starting point for development see this question about ...

Please see this thread: Display members in group in template You will probably need to use an extension or plugin to do this easily. Something like solspace User or another plugin that will allow you to output your list directly. Another option is accessing the member data via query but you will need to do some work to the query to get it to show the ...

I ended up using the plugin Smart Member Pro which was perfect for what I needed. Very powerful plugin for importing member accounts and easy tags to display member data as well. Worth the money. Zeel Smart Member (Free) Smart Member Pro (Paid)

I believe I've found the answer. If you want the quickest, non core file modifying answer, then it is simply Upgrade to PHP5.5 or better! Otherwsie read on... Basically this all comes down to PHP Version. The actual issue is in the file /system/expressionengine/controllers/cp/myaccount.php as the OP suggests. The function at fault is update_signiture() and ...

Have you looked at Postmaster add-on? You should be able to set up a "parcel" to go out when a member registers that could include any custom member or channel fields (see the Variable Reference section in the Postmaster docs).

or you can use this addon http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/disable-default-memberfields You can select what fields and for who is visible or not.

Synchronizing Information My member's Channel (the one associated via SafeCracker Registration) has a {profile_name} field. Whenever this is set, I'd like to sync it up with EE's {screen_name}. How do I do this? I took a glace at "SafeCracker Registration" module settings but there isn't any such type of settings. You can develop a small extension ...
