For any variable that needs extra processing, like the Wygwam variable type, use the tag syntax rather than the variable syntax: {exp:low_variables:single var="my_wygwam_var"} Note that having early parsing on or off is irrelevant for the tag syntax, so you can leave it off.

I would recommend restoring the site from a backup. Your host provide should be able to help you gain access to the backups of the file system and of the database, if you don't have direct access yourself and/or you don't have a separate backup available.

You need to ensure that you have created a Channel Field Group and assigned that to your Channel (News). Then, make sure that you have created at least one field in your Channel Field Group. In this case it would be a Textarea Field Type with a name of body. Then in your Publish/Edit screen for your Channel you'll see your new Body field. Once you enter in ...

Like, multiple different ways, depending on what you want to do. One way: {!-- template: teamplate.group/index.html (default template group) --} {exp:channel:entries {if segment_1} url_title="{segment_1}" {if:else} url_title="home-page-entry-url-title" {/if}} ... maybe use a homepage partial here if no segment 1, otherwise use a ...

Per the docs: https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/msm/code.html#embedding-templates-from-another-site Just embed the template and pass the variables. '{embed="site_short_name:template_group/template"}'

You should be able to do: {exp:channel:entries} {if page_uri} {!-- or {if pages_url} --} This is a page in the pages module {if:else} This is not {/if} {/exp:channel:entries}

I also use Structure for a long time but I'm now trying NavEE and I must say it looks great. I follow your problem with Structure for a while now and that's why i am looking for an alternative to Structure.

If you're using Structure mostly for navigation, Taxonomy can be of help: http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/taxonomy

ExpressionEngine relationships between pages / entries in the core are linear, there is no such thing as a child page. If you want to have nested URLs, have a look at third-party add-ons, such as Structure. You may also achieve nested URLs with built-in Pages module, but it's not as visual as Structure

You can do this using Resource Router instead of the Pages module. In your system/expressionengine/config/config.php file: $config['resource_router'] = array( ':any/:any/(info|menu|hours|some_other_page)' => function($router, $wildcard1, $wildcard2, $wildcard3) { $validCity = $wildcard1->isValidUrlTitle(array('channel' => 'cities')); ...

You're already using require_entry, so the final step is to use the no_results check. {if no_results} {redirect="404"} {/if}

I think your idea of using Matrix rows or Krea Content Elements to set up separate pages is a good one. In the past, I've just used a single Wygwam field in conjunction with Simple Pagination. The Simple Pagination plugin makes it possible to split up an entry into an unlimited number of pages by simply entering {pagebreak} I suppose the nice thing ...

Sounds like all you need to do is add a new field. EE supports a broad range of fields you can add to a channel - if currently you are adding text to a 'text' field it as has been noted limited normally to 256 characters. But there are other field options that support considerably more text - such as "Text Area" or "Rich Text Field". All you would need to ...

Well, you should increase the Maximum characters limit from Field Options of your textbox field. By default it set to 256. You can increase it according to your requirement.

To get the biggest improvements in page speed for your site you're going to want to do a few things server side first. The latest versions of PHP will give you a nice performance gain (https://ellislab.com/blog/entry/time-to-upgrade-php) as well as enabling g-zip on the server. From there you'll want to make sure your images are losslessly compressed. As far ...

This is perfectly feasible in EE without any add-ons. Since EE doesn't really have a concept of pages, a single channel entry can appear at multiple URIs no problem - You'll just need to use some logic in your template to show the right entry. There are lots of different ways to approach this, but let's say you want your URIs to be: /products/widget-A/in/...

in you control panel go to Design>Template Manager > Global Template Preferences find 404 page and assign a 404 template. it works for me hope thats help

I'm not sure there is a hard "## number of pages is too many" answer - but 880 is certainly pushing the Pages Module way past what it was designed for. See my writeup on the history of the pages module. The Pages Module wasn't developed to be the basis of building the nav for an entire site and you are seeing the results of trying to do so.

It seems like an embed might help you get the job done. Can you you do something like this: {embed="_embeds/venue" segment_2="{segment_2}"} Then in your embedded template: {exp:channel:entries channel="venues" disable="categories|member_data|pagination" dynamic="no" limit="1" require_entry="yes" status="open" url_title="{embed:segment_2}" ...

We use a combination of Low Reorder and Categories to enable the client to easily place and manage entries where they want in the navigation structure. In this fairly simple example we have the following fixed top level menu items. Corporate / Investor Centre / Projects / Contact / Home Corporate, Investor Center and Projects draw entries from the same ...

Try the built in Pages module. The UI isn't quite the same as Structure but you can see a tree like layout of the site if you wish. In reality I've found that nobody has really missed Structure's apparent convenience.

Do not add url_title, Structure places the right data for you.

Turns out all I needed to do was run Structure Debugging on it. I didn't know this existed but it fixed my problem. http://buildwithstructure.com/documentation/debug_mode_for_page_data/ Simply change the debug option to TRUE in the MCP file, run the debugging. This removed my entries from Structure, but they were still in Publish > Edit, so I just added ...

How many pages/entries are structure managed in total? Looks like you might be suffering from the structure reorder bug (which is not a structure bug). Take a look at http://madebyhippo.com/blog/view/structure_reorder_bug which will give you more details on it. Alternatively, if you file a support bug with Travis at Structure, quoting this SE post - he can ...

Your site URL in your site general configuration (or perhaps your config file, depending on how you set up) likely has a trailing slash which isn't needed. If you remove that it should fix it for you. In "Admin > General Configuration" this is referred to as "URL to the root directory of your site"

You're running Matrix 2.5.8. In the Matrix Changelog for Matrix 2.5.9 (released 5 months ago) is: Fixed a PHP error that could occur when a new File cell was saved for the first time I suggest updating to the latest version (currently 2.5.10). In general, it's a good idea to update to the latest version of any software if you run into a PHP error, as ...

That sounds odd - but you can remove the page via Add-on → Modules → Pages.

This has been fixed in Wygwam version 4.0.8!
