For any variable that needs extra processing, like the Wygwam variable type, use the tag syntax rather than the variable syntax: {exp:low_variables:single var="my_wygwam_var"} Note that having early parsing on or off is irrelevant for the tag syntax, so you can leave it off.

Try adding dynamic="no" to your channel:entries tag, otherwise it will try to fetch entries based on the URL.

Admin > Channel Administration > Global Preferences > Word Separator for URL Titles > Dash Or, in your config.php file (or your bootstrap equivalent): $config['word_separator'] = 'dash';

When using the Pages module, the URL Title is not used and should not be fed to to the {exp:channel:entries} tag. If you remove that parameter from the tag and change dynamic="yes" or remove the dynamic parameter altogether, it will pick up the correct page entry automatically. You'll also need to make sure the entry with the Page URI set has the correct ...

This is what the Template Routes add-on was made for. In your EE config.php, add your template routes config: $config['template_routes'] = array( ':page:XX/(\d{4}-\d{2})' => 'site/member-calendar', ); where XX is the entry_id of the members/calendar entry and 'site/member-calendar' is the template_group/template_name of your template.

I found that the new Parser logic doesn't account for page_url in their $this->_urls block. Adding the following after line 423 of Simple_variable.php is the fix: elseif ($key == "page_url") { $tagdata = str_replace(LD.$key.RD, $data['page_url'], $tagdata); }

You need to ensure that you have created a Channel Field Group and assigned that to your Channel (News). Then, make sure that you have created at least one field in your Channel Field Group. In this case it would be a Textarea Field Type with a name of body. Then in your Publish/Edit screen for your Channel you'll see your new Body field. Once you enter in ...

I would recommend restoring the site from a backup. Your host provide should be able to help you gain access to the backups of the file system and of the database, if you don't have direct access yourself and/or you don't have a separate backup available.

Like, multiple different ways, depending on what you want to do. One way: {!-- template: teamplate.group/index.html (default template group) --} {exp:channel:entries {if segment_1} url_title="{segment_1}" {if:else} url_title="home-page-entry-url-title" {/if}} ... maybe use a homepage partial here if no segment 1, otherwise use a ...

You should be able to do: {exp:channel:entries} {if page_uri} {!-- or {if pages_url} --} This is a page in the pages module {if:else} This is not {/if} {/exp:channel:entries}

@James Right, I really do understand that argument, but at the same time the "streams of content" philosophy requires knowing quite a lot about content before it is ever created. Yep, you're absolutely right there. Most EE sites I've made usually end up with a generic 'Pages' channel, but I always try to drill home that it needs to be for exceptional ...

You can't do that from the Pages module. You can set the default template, and then, in that template, call a specific entry by entry_id. This is an example of what I typically do in the default template (site home page)--e.g., site/index: {exp:channel:entries entry_id="1" channel="home_page" disable="member_data|trackbacks|pagination|...

Since you want the page content to be dynamic and not static the proper way to do this would be via the regular ExpressionEngine group/template/entry url parsing structure. The Pages module is really for making "static" content. It looks for specific URLs and will not look for partial URLs then take the remainder as parameters - this is what the normal URL ...

Per the docs: https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/msm/code.html#embedding-templates-from-another-site Just embed the template and pass the variables. '{embed="site_short_name:template_group/template"}'

Adding an additional segment on to the end of a Pages URI will trigger a 404. I recommend using the Freebie extension to set an ignored segment, in your case "thank-you." This will allow you to redirect to /contact/thank-you and show the contact page while still using the second segment for any conditionals. {if freebie_2 == "thank-you"} <p>Your ...

If that page has been added to the Pages module list, it will require a URI. And if you've left at least one other blank, then that's where your duplicate URI is coming in. Just check out the Pages module list and make sure you delete the page from there -- it won't actually remove the page entry in the channel though.

I think your idea of using Matrix rows or Krea Content Elements to set up separate pages is a good one. In the past, I've just used a single Wygwam field in conjunction with Simple Pagination. The Simple Pagination plugin makes it possible to split up an entry into an unlimited number of pages by simply entering {pagebreak} I suppose the nice thing ...

I also use Structure for a long time but I'm now trying NavEE and I must say it looks great. I follow your problem with Structure for a while now and that's why i am looking for an alternative to Structure.

If you're using Structure mostly for navigation, Taxonomy can be of help: http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/taxonomy

You can do this using Resource Router instead of the Pages module. In your system/expressionengine/config/config.php file: $config['resource_router'] = array( ':any/:any/(info|menu|hours|some_other_page)' => function($router, $wildcard1, $wildcard2, $wildcard3) { $validCity = $wildcard1->isValidUrlTitle(array('channel' => 'cities')); ...

ExpressionEngine relationships between pages / entries in the core are linear, there is no such thing as a child page. If you want to have nested URLs, have a look at third-party add-ons, such as Structure. You may also achieve nested URLs with built-in Pages module, but it's not as visual as Structure

2

You're already using require_entry, so the final step is to use the no_results check. {if no_results} {redirect="404"} {/if}

Do not add url_title, Structure places the right data for you.

Turns out all I needed to do was run Structure Debugging on it. I didn't know this existed but it fixed my problem. http://buildwithstructure.com/documentation/debug_mode_for_page_data/ Simply change the debug option to TRUE in the MCP file, run the debugging. This removed my entries from Structure, but they were still in Publish > Edit, so I just added ...

How many pages/entries are structure managed in total? Looks like you might be suffering from the structure reorder bug (which is not a structure bug). Take a look at http://madebyhippo.com/blog/view/structure_reorder_bug which will give you more details on it. Alternatively, if you file a support bug with Travis at Structure, quoting this SE post - he can ...

Your site URL in your site general configuration (or perhaps your config file, depending on how you set up) likely has a trailing slash which isn't needed. If you remove that it should fix it for you. In "Admin > General Configuration" this is referred to as "URL to the root directory of your site"

You're running Matrix 2.5.8. In the Matrix Changelog for Matrix 2.5.9 (released 5 months ago) is: Fixed a PHP error that could occur when a new File cell was saved for the first time I suggest updating to the latest version (currently 2.5.10). In general, it's a good idea to update to the latest version of any software if you run into a PHP error, as ...

That sounds odd - but you can remove the page via Add-on → Modules → Pages.

This has been fixed in Wygwam version 4.0.8!

I use the Pages module extensively for standalone pages. I usually create a "Standalone Web Pages" channel to hold these. I'd create multiple different channels if I needed significantly different fields on different pages, and/or different categories or statuses. But, otherwise, one channel is fine. The main human thing with using EE Pages is that you ...
