There are only two reasons templates won't save as flat files: The permissions on the destination directory are not set to 777 The path to the directory is not correct. In your case, the path is not correct. Changing the path from: D:/WebSites/limited-cobe/www/system/expressionengine/templates/ to: D:/WebSites/limited-cobe/www/system/expressionengine/...

Try using {site_url} which will return the site's homepage url such as http://www.mysite.com

there is no such thing as an url in EE. You can however grab the url title like so: {url_title} however, you'll either have to do something like <a href="(path="template_group/template"}"> (which i hardly use) or more harddcoded <a href="{site_url}news/{url_title}">

Only new entries will use the new separator. Old entries will be left using the "original" separator they were created with. If you delete the url title and submit the entry. EE will then re-make the url title field using the separator chosen in the setting. I have found no other place anywhere that relies upon the url titles setting. I tested this on EE ...

In the root of your site, i.e the same level as the index.php, create a file called info.php and put in there the following code: <?php echo $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']; ?> Then using your browser, go to yoursite.com/info.php (obviously replace yoursite.com with whatever your url is for accessing your site) and put here whatever it outputs. Then, ...

The crucial part of MSM is the "$system_path" variable in index/admin.php which is the (file) system path of site 1's system folder rather than a URL. 8) Updated system path in admin.php & index.php to absolute URL of site 1 (other variables also updated to reflect site 2 cp url & url). From what you wrote I'm not sure if you've got that part ...

For your #1, can you browse static files (e.g., put a robots.txt in the root folder) at http://archives.mystie.com? Can you browse http://archives.mystie.com/robots.txt? Make sure that works, as a starting point. From the point of view of EE, it doesn't really know that a subdomain is a subdomain--it's just a domain name / URL. So, in your config file, you ...

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?/$1 Instead of... RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 Normally the first thing I try when query strings go wrong!

Unfortunately the long random string is the result of a run time pseudo caching that the template system in ExpressionEngine uses. (If you google that string M40o93H7pQ09L8X1t49cHY01Z5j4TT91fGfr you will find loads of live EE sites where this issue is present). That being said, the fix is very easy! This happens when the same tag is present on a given ...

You'd be best left not messing with that and using {site_url} instead. http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/templates/globals/single_variables.html#site-url

This is path issue as you think. You need to change path manually. There is 2 ways to change the path in EE3 - EE4 Go to Settings > URL and Path Settings and change all necessary variables. Install Deeploy Helper module and change path from settings of this module. (This module is paid.)

This was a bug that has been fixed in Assets 2.2. See changelog.

I assume you're using AddThis on your site? You can disable the "click tracking" that they add to URLs by following instructions on the AddThis site. If you're not using AddThis, I'd imagine you're using another service that does something similar.

I would suggeest pasing the site ID you need via am embed parameter al'a {embed="siteA:sidebar/latest-news" origin={site_id}} then using the sites parameter in the internal comments tag to force the comments to be drawn from the other site. https://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/sites/code.html#specifying-multiple-sites-prepare-for-a-head-trip ...

I may be reading this wrong and so if I am then I apologise but could this not work for you? <h4>Recent News Posts</h4> <ul class="inline-list"> {exp:channel:entries channel="community|government|education|business|history" limit="3"} <li><a href="/{channel_short_name}/{url_title}">{title}</a></li> {/exp:...

1

One way is to use a conditional based on channel_short_name like this: {exp:channel:entries channel="community|government|education|business|history" limit="3"} <li> {if channel_short_name == "news"} <a href="/news/{url_title}">{title}</a> {if:elseif channel_short_name == "community"} <a href="...

1

Probably you're getting a 404 because the exp:channel:entries tag is trying get all entries of the year 2014 and month 07. If you need to use years, months and days as segments, you gonna need to set dynamic parameter to no. Take a look at the URL Schematic

Not all configurable options are in the default config file. This is one of them. But the good news is that you can set an override in your site's config file just by adding it the following: $config['tmpl_file_basepath'] = '/path/to/your/templates'; It is possible to override many things in this way, to get the array key examine the ID of the input for ...

You need to delete this out of your .htaccess when accessing EE from a sub folder: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / </IfModule>

1

Sounds like your .htaccess file needs to account for your subfolder when removing index.php for EE. Here's a code snippet you can use. <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On # Removes index.php RewriteCond $1 !\.(gif|jpe?g|png)$ [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d # RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /...

There's a configuration value for the location of your themes directory. By default, in EE you'd change those by going here in the EE control panel: Admin > General Configuration > URL to your "themes" folder Eventually, many developers start setting configuration options like that in their config.php file; in this case, $config['theme_folder_path']and $...

Sounds like the actual Server Path setting is incorrect; not just a permissions issue. Ensure that it’s correct and then try updating Assets’ indexes for that directory.

Try uninstalling/reinstalling the extension (only). If that doesnt work, what ither extensions are installed?

I'd look to make it a little more dynamic (and legible) by using APPPATH: $db['expressionengine']['cachedir'] = APPPATH."cache/db_cache/"; You still need to set 777 permissions on the cache/ directory but it will be writable when placed above the webroot.

I like to add this System Config Override variable to my config.php file... $config['site_url'] = "http://localhost:8000/"; ...then change it depending on your environment. This way at least I have one less thing to update in the database between environments. I prefer that type of configuration to be in PHP anyway. Perhaps using more of the Config ...
