Just uploading the new files for modules doesn't complete the modules upgrade. You need to hit the "Run Module Updates" button on the Modules page. I like to delete an addon's folder and upload the new files fresh without overwriting an existing folder as this can sometimes cause inconsistancies and obsolete files linger behind.

First thing you need to do is upgrade EE, Wyvern, and CKeditor. Sounds like you're using really old versions, which I don't support.

If the channel Field Type is set to 'Textarea (Rich Text)' then you can just use the Field Name as the tag - eg: {your_rte_field}.
